Gender equality, minority groups and indigenous tribes

Nordic countries believe all its citizens should have the same opportunities, rights, and obligations in shaping their own society and lives, regardless of their gender, religion, sexual orientation, or ethnicity.

This includes issues such as power, influence, finances, education, work, freedom of religion, responsibilities at home and physical integrity.

Also issues on LGBTQI rights and challenges facing the Nordic countries to be more inclusive and accepting, working towards protections for LGBTI people against discrimination, threats, hatred and harassment.

Minority groups rights and their languages, Sami, Roma, Jews and Tornedalers,public sector has a particular responsibility to protect and promote the minority languages and should support and promote the preservation and development of minorities’ cultural identities.
